Living with Wildlife
The Living with Wildlife community awareness program is an entertaining and educational presentation using multimedia and real animals from our rescue center to explore the unique behavior of forest animals.
Most people know very little about wildlife and experience irrational fears and unrealistic expectations regarding wild animal behavior. The presentation is designed to dispel myths and help people appreciate what amazing creatures these animals really are.
We include a segment on the wildlife pet trade by including a trained “street” dog and rescued cat to offer people the correct choice for a pet. In this way we illustrate the differing needs of wild and domestic animals, introduce the concept of animal welfare, and encourage folks to recognize the difficulty of meeting needs of wild animals in a human home.
